A horrific accident took place on Wednesday morning in a colony located near Bengali intersection of Indore. An electric car parked outside a house caught fire due to a short circuit while charging, which took a huge turn in no time. In this accident, 6 people were burnt to death, while 3 people are seriously injured.
According to eyewitnesses and preliminary investigation, the electric car was charging outside the Puglia family home late at night. There was a short circuit in the charging point at around 4 in the morning, due to which the car caught fire. The fire spread rapidly and reached the house and engulfed the gas cylinders kept inside.
After the fire, explosions started in the cylinders kept in the house. It is being told that four cylinders exploded one after the other, which shook the entire area. The explosion was so strong that a part of the house collapsed and the people sleeping inside did not even get a chance to recover.
At the time of the incident, there was a family function at the Puglia family, due to which many relatives were also staying at the house. Due to this there was more loss of life. So far, the deaths of 6 people have been confirmed, while the treatment of the injured is continuing in the hospital.

According to Police Commissioner Santosh Kumar Singh, information about the fire was received at 4 am in the Tilak Nagar police station area. As soon as the information was received, the fire brigade reached the spot and started efforts to extinguish the fire. Manoj Sethia’s family lived in a three-storey house, from where three people were evacuated safely in the initial action.
Investigation has also revealed that electronic locks were installed in the house. Due to power supply being cut off during the fire, these locks could not be opened, due to which the people trapped inside faced a lot of difficulty in coming out. Rescue had to be done by breaking the doors. Initially, it is also believed that due to the fire, the gas cylinders kept in the house exploded, due to which the accident became even more frightening.
