On Bulandshahr-Meerut Highway, near Chidavak Cut of Gulavathi police station area late on Monday night, a speeding Hyundai Creta car went out of control, crossed the divider and collided with a truck in the other direction. During this, the car overturned three to four times and collided with a truck coming from the front. All three people traveling in the car died on the spot in the accident. A doctor resident of Sardhana, Meerut is also included among the dead. The police have taken the bodies into custody and sent them for post-mortem.
Late on Monday night, as soon as the white colored Creta car coming from Bulandshahr reached near Chidawak Cut of Gulavathi area, suddenly the driver lost his balance. According to eyewitnesses, the speed of the car was so high that it overturned three to four times on the road, crossed the divider and reached the lane coming from the wrong side of Meerut and then collided head-on with a truck coming from the front.
The collision was so severe that the car was blown to pieces and turned into a pile of junk. As soon as the information was received, there was panic in the police administration. The officials who reached the spot, with the help of local people, pulled out the people trapped in the car, but by then all three had stopped breathing. The deceased have been identified. In which Dr. Ashutosh Punia (35), resident of village Dalampur, police station Sardhana (Meerut), Ankit (37), resident of Dalampur, resident of Sardhana (Meerut) and Mahesh Kumar, resident of Jasnawali Khurd Kotwali village, Bulandshahr, 55 years old.
Seeing the seriousness of the accident, SSP Dinesh Kumar Singh, SP City Shankar Prasad and CO Secunderabad Bhaskar Mishra reached the spot with heavy police force. After a lot of effort, the police of Gulavathi, Secunderabad and Dehat Kotwali cleared the jam on the highway and removed the damaged vehicles from the road. SSP Dinesh Kumar Singh said that prima facie the accident appears to have happened due to uncontrolled speeding. The relatives have been informed and the bodies have been sent to the post-mortem house after filling the Panchnama. The case is being investigated.
