Basic Education Council has released the calendar of holidays for the new year 2026 in council and recognized basic schools of the state. Under this, there will be 33 days holiday in schools. However, the school will be opened one day each between the holidays of Holi and Diwali.
According to the calendar released by the council, the holiday of Holika Dahan is on March 2 and Holi on March 4. In between, the school will be opened on Tuesday, March 3. Similarly, the holiday of Narak Chaturdashi and Deepawali is on 8th, Govardhan Puja on 9th and the holiday of Bhaiya Dooj and Chitragupta Jayanti is on 11th November. In this way schools will open on Tuesday 10th November.
Not only this, teachers organizations have said that schools open and programs are held on Basant Panchami, Republic Day, Independence Day, Gandhi Jayanti, Sardar Patel Jayanti. Even after this it is included in the holiday list. According to Basic Education Council Secretary Surendra Kumar Tiwari, the leave of Haritalika Teej or Hariyali Teej, Karva Chauth, Sankatha Chaturthi, Halashthi or Lalai Chhath, Jiutiya or Ahoi Ashtami will be given to teachers and the leave of Pitru Visarjan will be given to both the teachers.
