A trainer aircraft crashed into fields after hitting a 33 KV high voltage power line in Madhya Pradesh’s Seoni district on Monday evening. The pilot and the other pilot on board the plane were injured in the accident. Both were immediately rescued and are undergoing treatment.
The accident occurred two kilometers away from Suktara airstrip near Amagaon.
According to the information, the accident took place in the fields of Amagaon at 6.25 pm. This place is about two kilometers from Suktara Airstrip on Seoni-Nagpur National Highway 44. The aircraft belonged to Redward Aviation Company and was on a training flight.
Both passengers including pilot Ajit Chavda are out of danger
According to officials, pilot Ajit Chavda and the second pilot on board the plane were injured. Electricity company employees, villagers and police together immediately rescued both of them. The injured have been admitted to a private hospital in Barapathar where both are said to be out of danger.
‘During landing the lower part hit the power line’
According to eyewitnesses, the plane was landing on the runway when its lower part hit the 33 KV high voltage line of Badalpar substation. The collision was so strong that the power line broke and the plane fell to the ground.

Major accident averted due to power line trip
The official said that as soon as the plane hit the line, the power line immediately tripped, stopping the flow of current. Due to this the plane did not catch fire and a major accident was avoided. However, power supply was disrupted in the area.

As soon as information about the accident was received, the local administration and police reached the spot. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has been informed about the incident and investigation has been started. At present the wreckage of the plane has been kept at a safe place.
