Agencies engaged in investigation of the accident
Hammonton Police Chief Kevin Friel said rescuers arrived at the scene about 11:25 a.m. Sunday on a report of a plane crash, and police and firefighters later extinguished the flames that had engulfed a helicopter. One person died and another was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries, they said. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board have been notified of the crash and will investigate, Friel said.
