A reward of Rs 1 lakh was announced on betel nut killer Banarasi Yadav, who murdered Mahendra Gautam in Sarnath police station area. Today there was an encounter with the STF team on Bariasanpur Ring Road under Chaubepur police station. After the encounter, he was sent to the nearest hospital in injured condition, where the doctor declared him dead. More than two dozen serious cases are registered against Banarasi. Two pistols and a large number of cartridges have been recovered from the spot.
