Before the Bihar elections, a big blow has been given to former Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav. After RJD MLAs Sangeeta Kumari, Bharat Bind, Chetan Anand, now two more MLAs have also submitted their resignation to Assembly Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav. Nawada MLA Vibha Devi and Rajauli (reserved) MLA Prakash Veer have resigned. These people were angry with the top leadership of RJD since the Lok Sabha elections. The presence of these two MLAs increased the political excitement even more when they appeared on the stage of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s program in Gaya. With sharing of the stage, speculations about these two leaders breaking ties with RJD were confirmed.
Here, after resigning, Prakash Veer told that I have resigned from the post of MLA. Tejashwi Yadav once came to visit Nawada, but he did not invite us, so we did not go. There someone in the crowd shouted, ‘Tejashwi bhaiya, remove Prakash Veer’. This hurt my self-esteem. Now there is no question of returning to RJD.
Vibha Devi is the wife of former Minister of State for Labor Rajvallabh Yadav, a former minister and three-time MLA. He had won from Nawada in 2020 on RJD ticket. But he and his supporters were dissatisfied with the party giving ticket to Shravan Kushwaha in the 2025 Lok Sabha elections. It is alleged that both of them did not support the RJD candidate, due to which the party leadership, especially Tejashwi Yadav, got angry with them. Meanwhile, Vibha Devi’s increasing closeness with Bharatiya Janata Party was also in the news. His presence on the stage at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally in Gaya in August 2025 had created a stir in the RJD. Due to fear of being denied ticket from the party and family equations, he resigned from NDA. Now she is considered a strong contender for BJP or JDU ticket from Nawada seat.
An attempt was being made to tarnish the image of the family
Vibha Devi, wife of former minister Rajballabh Yadav and RJD from Nawada Sadar, said that false allegations were made against her and her family by Tejashwi and some leaders close to him. An attempt was made to tarnish the image of his respected family. Vibha Devi said that she has not come into politics by selling her honour. He never took bribe nor did corruption. Vibha Devi alleged that when the game of making or breaking the government was going on, some leaders close to her who were with Tejashwi had demanded huge amount of money from her. She could not pay this amount. Despite this, he and MLA Prakash Veer did not leave the party. Whereas many leaders had tempted him to change sides. She said that it was her mistake that she could not give money to Tejashwi for his wrongdoing.
Bihar: Anant Singh invited the public to come for nomination, said- he is going to contest elections from CM Nitish’s party.
Prakash Veer became MLA for the first time in 2015
Whereas Rajauli MLA Prakash Veer, who comes from Dalit community. He became a first-time MLA in 2015 and remained active on regional development issues, but discontent against him grew among party workers and the local public. In August, a video went viral in which RJD workers were raising slogans ‘O Tejasvi Bhaiya… Prakash Veer will have to be removed’. From that time onwards speculations about his joining BJP had started.
Both of them defeated NDA in the 2020 elections.
RJD’s Vibha Devi had won from Nawada seat in Bihar Assembly elections 2020. He won this seat by defeating the BJP candidate. Prakash Veer of RJD had also won from Rajauli (reserved) seat. RJD had strong Dalit-Backward and minority support in both the seats, giving a tough fight to NDA. RJD’s victory on both these seats had strengthened the party’s position in the Magadha region.
