The first phase of voting in Bihar is tomorrow i.e. on 6th November. Voting will be held from 7 am to 6 pm at 45341 polling stations in 115 assembly constituencies. Voting will take place only at 2135 polling stations in six assembly constituencies from 7 am to 5 pm. From Wednesday morning itself, polling personnel started collecting EVM-VVPAT and other materials from the dispatch centres. Security forces will reach all the polling stations by this evening. Mock poll will be conducted in the presence of booth level agents at 5 am on Thursday. Voting will start two hours after this i.e. at seven o’clock.
Voting in these districts in the first phase
In the first phase, voting will be held on 121 seats in 18 districts. These districts are Madhepura, Saharsa, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Vaishali, Samastipur, Begusarai, Khagaria, Munger, Lakhisarai, Sheikhpura, Nalanda, Patna, Bhojpur and Buxar. A total of 2496 nominations were filed on these 121 seats. During investigation, 1939 was found to be valid. Of those, 70 candidates later withdrew their nominations. Thereafter, by sorting the nominations into several sets, one nomination from each candidate was taken, resulting in the total actual number of candidates being 1314. These include 1192 men and 122 women. In this phase, voting will be held on 102 general and 19 reserved seats for Scheduled Castes.

6,736 voters above 100 years of age
A total of 3 crore 75 lakh 13 thousand 302 voters will exercise their franchise in the first phase. This includes one crore 98 lakh 35 thousand 325 men, one crore 76 lakh 77 thousand 219 women and 758 third gender voters. Apart from this, 1, 00, 904 service voters will also cast their votes in this phase. Special facilities have been ensured for disabled and elderly voters at polling stations. 3, 22, 077 disabled voters and 5, 31, 423 senior citizen voters (including 5, 24, 687 voters above 80 years of age and 6,736 voters above 100 years of age) will also participate in this extravaganza of democracy. In the first phase of voting, there are seven lakh 37 thousand 765 voters who will vote for the first time. Most of these are young voters in the age group of 18 to 19 years. Whereas 1,96,27,330 young voters between 18 to 40 years of age are going to play an important role in this election.
