A tragic road accident in Churu district of Rajasthan on Friday evening shocked the entire area. Five people died, while three others were seriously injured in a head-on collision between a trailer and an SUV in Sandwa police station area. According to the police, the accident was so severe that four people traveling in the SUV died on the spot.
Sandwa police station in-charge Chauthmal said that the people traveling in the SUV had come to Sandwa to resolve a family dispute. After counselling, everyone was returning back to Lalgarh, when this accident happened on the way. The vehicle was badly damaged after the collision.
Three injured referred to Bikaner
The deceased have been identified as Umed Singh (55), Prahlad Singh (35), Dalip Singh (25), all residents of Lalgarh, Raju Kanwar (40), resident of Shyamsar (Nagaur) and Narayan Ram (60). Narayan Ram died during treatment in Bikaner hospital. Three people injured in the accident were first taken to Sandwa Community Health Center, from where in view of their critical condition, they were referred to Bikaner.
Investigation into the case continues
Police said that the trailer driver fled from the spot after the accident, teams have been formed to search for him. At present, the bodies of the deceased have been kept in the mortuary of Sandwa CHC for postmortem. The police is investigating the entire matter.
