Violence did not suddenly erupt in the sixth schedule and in the ongoing agitation for the state status, but it was a planned conspiracy to destabilize a quiet region like Ladakh. Local people are also feared to have external elements in it.
According to local people, such a situation has never been seen before in a sensitive region like Ladakh. Residents of Ladakh have been fighting their rights since the unified Jammu and Kashmir state in 2019 and became a union territory.

Among them, government jobs and employment to local youth are also a big issue. Although an attempt was made by the Central Government to solve their employment issue by bringing a domicy policy in May this year, but people are demanding separate Ladakh Public Service Commission and Ladakh Staff Selection Commission.

He was also not satisfied with the Ladakhi Domicile Policy. He said that it was not given in the form they wanted. Along with conservation of language and culture, he was fighting prominently to fight for his rights on his land and resources.

Shortly before, the reins of this movement were taken over by eminent environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk and he was sitting on a hunger strike demanding Ladakh to be made a full state and to be included in the sixth schedule of the Constitution.

Everything was going on peaceful on Wednesday too, but in the meantime, suddenly some youth came and disturbed this peaceful movement. The disturbance was because the meeting of the Numindas of Leh Apex Body (LAB) and Kargil Democratic Front (KDA) was scheduled on October 6 with the Union Home Ministry.
