The Indian Army got a big success on Monday under Operation Mahadev amidst the Amarnath Yatra. The soldiers killed three terrorists in a fierce encounter in the forest of the upper area of Dachigam in Srinagar. These terrorists are being told by Lashkar-e-Taiba but were not identified till late night. At least one of these is said to be associated with the Pahalgam terror attack. However, it has not been officially confirmed. Ammunition, including an M4 Carbine Assault Rifle, two rifles of the AK series, was recovered from the encounter site.

The encounter site is 25 kg away from Srinagar
Dachigam forest area is about 25 km from the summer capital Srinagar and the encounter took place in Lidwas. A military official associated with the operation said that the Special Forces 4 Paras and 24 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) were reported to have a presence of two to three terrorists in Lidwas on Monday morning. Based on this, Operation Mahadev was started.

Army had additional siege
On confirmation of the terrorists, the additional force was called and strictly strictly so that the terrorists could not escape. Seeing themselves surrounded, the terrorists tried to flee by firing, but the soldiers retaliated and got entangled in the encounter. During this time there was a fierce firing and three terrorists were killed. On the success of the operation, the Chinar Corps wrote on X that three terrorists were killed in a fierce firing in Lidwas. The operation continues.

He also had a hideout at the place where the terrorists have been killed. In this, the terrorists had collected food and drink. Sources said that the slain terrorists are Pakistani and were associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba. However, no official confirmation has been made.
