Late Thursday evening, Commissionerate Police, Ludhiana had an encounter with two terrorists who were planning to carry out a major terrorist incident with a hand grenade. The encounter took place near Ladowal when a police team was patrolling and two terrorists were passing by. When they got suspicious and tried to stop them, the accused ran away. When the police team chased them, they opened fire on the police party. After this the employees informed this to the higher officials. Many police teams reached there immediately. The police surrounded both the terrorists. Both were injured in cross firing. The police controlled both of them and took them to the hospital.
Police have recovered two hand grenades, four pistols and more than fifty cartridges from the possession of the terrorists who were injured by police bullets. From the weapons recovered from the terrorists, it is feared that both of them were planning to commit some major crime. Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma himself has reached the incident site. He immediately took all the information and sent it to Chandigarh.
It is being told that the police of Haryana and Bihar had arrested the terrorists with hand grenade a day earlier. After that the Commissionerate Police had received some inputs. When the police was patrolling the area, the accused were passing by. When the police stopped, the accused ran away. When the team chased, the accused opened fire. Both were injured in cross firing. The condition of one of them remains critical. The police are investigating it as a terror module which was being run with the support of Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI.
