The politics of Bihar is once again taking a turn. Questions are being raised on the unity of the Grand Alliance in Nawada district, as dissatisfaction regarding seat distribution seems to be increasing. Especially RJD and Congress have come face to face in Warisaliganj assembly seat.
RJD has made Kumari Anita, wife of notorious muscleman Ashok Mahato, its candidate from Warisaliganj. Tejashwi Yadav also supported him by handing over the party symbol. At the same time, Congress has created a direct contest by fielding Satish Kumar alias Mantan Singh from the same seat. Whatever may be the strategy behind this ‘friendly competition’ of the Grand Alliance, in reality it is also telling the story of internal divisions. Nomination of both the candidates from Warisaliganj is to be held on Saturday.
No final decision has been taken yet on Nawada Sadar seat, Govindpur and Rajauli assembly seats. RJD’s Kaushal Yadav is demanding tickets for himself and his wife on Govindpur and Nawada seats. At the same time, the sitting MLA from Govindpur seat, Mohd. Kamran is also adamant on the ticket. Kamran was the only Muslim MLA to win from Magadh division, and his sidelining could affect many political equations.

Tej Pratap Yadav’s party Jan Shakti Janata Dal has fielded sitting MLA Prakashveer from Rajauli assembly seat as its candidate. This step is giving rise to new political movements within the Grand Alliance. Prakashveer had recently joined JDU and will now contest the elections on the symbol of Blackboard.
Now the question arises whether this strategy of the Grand Alliance will lead to division of votes? Will voters accept this ‘friendly fight’ or see it as a failure of the Grand Alliance? The people of Nawada will now evaluate these political calculations, and the results will decide whether this move of the Grand Alliance will be successful or defeated.
